Why is my robot litter box not detecting my cat? ›

Check for obstructions

Make sure the Litter-Robot is on a firm, level surface. The cat sensor function can be affected if the unit is on carpeting or a litter mat. Check that there are no power cords running underneath the base of the robot that might obstruct movement.

Litter-Robot is equipped with anti-pinch sensors on both sides of the waste drawer chute to ensure your cat's safety while in use. These sensors monitor for potential pinch conditions at all times. If your unit displays a green and white alternating light bar, this indicates an anti-pinch fault during power up.

If your Litter-Robot 3 is displaying a yellow light flashing slowly, this indicates a cycle has been interrupted either by the cat sensor or bonnet removal. Press the Reset button to resume the cycle. If your unit returned home and displays a solid blue light, you've been successful.

Once you notice that your cats have used the Litter-Robot, you can cycle the unit manually by turning the unit ON. If the cats are present, it will give them a chance to observe the motion and become familiar with the sound of the Litter- Robot while you are present to reassure them.

Short press the Reset button, then short press the Cycle button to run a Clean cycle. After your Litter-Robot cycles, it should return to the Home position, displaying a blue light bar.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS FOR NON-ROTATING MOVA GLOBE

Try placing the globe directly under a bright lamp to make sure it has adequate light to allow the light to penetrate the inner film and touch the solar cells. You can also try placing the globe by a window during a sunny day to receive indirect light.

Litter-Robot comes equipped with current-sensing capability to detect if the motor is connected and running properly. If the unit displays a blue and white alternating light bar, there is an issue with the motor connection, which affects the rotation of the globe.

Make sure bluetooth is enabled. Accept Location Services if prompted. If the app is unable to find Litter-Robot via your device's bluetooth, move your mobile device closer to your Litter-Robot, check that your mobile device's bluetooth is turned on, and the power button on your Litter-Robot is blue.

Check that your unit is not overfilled with litter. If the litter is filled above the line, please remove some litter before proceeding. If you recently added litter, the globe could have slowed down enough to trigger this fault.
