Aquamarine is the main protagonist, and the main mermaid, in the film by the same name. She is played by actress Sarah Paxton. Aqua is her nickname, given to her first by Raymond.She swims away from her underwater home to avoid getting married to a "spoiled, shallow merman", who she didn't love. Her angry father, who is the king of the ocean, makes a storm that washes her into a swimming pool. She is found by Claire and Hailey and asks them to help her prove to her father that true love is real, so she won't have to get married.

Personality
Aquamarine is a gorgeous mermaid who surfaces accidentally during a storm. She is very girly and kind. She is also eager to prove to her father that true love exists; this showed that she's ambitious. She is creative and bubbly, and very confident. She is well-traveled. She also is naïve being she falls in love with Raymond at first sight and expected him to love her in return. However, Aqua is a precious gem that you rarely find in the ocean; she is the best mermaid friend you could have. She loves to go swimming with Claire and Hailey while Claire goes freediving and Hailey goes scuba diving.
Role in the Movie
Aquamarine escaped her father, the king of the seas, to find love on the land. She used one of the tidal waves her father created to end up on dry land. She met two girls Claire and Hailey who agreed to help her on her quest in change of a wish. Apparently, when a mortal helps a mermaid, they are entitled to any wish they want. Aquamarine saw Raymond, who was also the girls' crush, and fell in love with him at first sight. Aquamarine used the magazines the girls gave her to seduce Raymond, which wasn't very successful at first, but in time Raymond started to notice Aquamarine. They went on a several dates, and fell in love. Cecilia Banks, who also wanted Raymond for herself, found out that Aquamarine was a mermaid and slept in the water tower. She called the media, to expose her, but a local man Leonard saved Aquamarine before she was caught on tape. Aquamarine had arranged a meeting with Raymond to find out how he feels for her exactly on a jetty. But Cecilia intervened and pushed Aquamarine over the ledge into the water, Aquamarine transformed into a mermaid, and was dragged to open sea in a current. Raymond was at first shocked to find out that Aquamarine was a mermaid, but still came to her rescue. Meanwhile Claire and Hailey jumped in to help Aquamarine, and agreed to give up their wish if Aquamarine could stay with them. That show of love was enough to prove to Aquamarine's father that true love exists, and he released Aquamarine. Raymond arrived, and after a little talk, he and Aquamarine agreed to date further.

Unnamed merman father: King of the ocean. He was mad at her for not marrying the merman he picked for her arranged marriage, repaired relationship after he saw how many true love bonds she had made.
Unnamed Merman Ex-Fiancé: Arranged marriage between him and Aqua made by her father, She didn't truly love him. Aqua didn't like him cause he was "As Deep as a Tidal Pool."
Appearance
She has blonde hair with light blue streaks; teal is also the color of her tail. In the movie, she wears many different outfits (most notably: Hailey's blue sweatshirt). She appears to be around 16-17 years old and looks a little older than Hailey and Claire. She also wears a necklace that appears to be historic looking and old, but beautiful.
Powers
Aquamarine can control water; such as creating waves (her father's control over the water is significantly larger however). Aqua may have gotten her powers from her father. She can grow legs if she comes out of the water in the day. The blue mermaid tail comes back if her legs get wet or if the sun goes down. Her fingernails/fingerscales and toenails/toescales change color with her mood:
